Diving in Barbados

Dive Guide for Barbados

Barbados is an island in the eastern Caribbean, known for its shipwrecks, coral reefs, and warm tropical waters. With dive sites suitable for beginners and experienced divers, the island offers a mix of reef diving, wrecks, and marine life encounters.

Most scuba diving in Barbados takes place along the west and southwest coasts, where coral reefs and numerous shipwrecks are found. The island offers several shallow wrecks suitable for recreational divers, along with deeper sites such as the SS Stavronikita, one of its best-known wreck dives. The more exposed Atlantic east coast generally has rougher conditions and is less commonly dived.

Barbados is home to a variety of marine life, including hawksbill and green sea turtles, parrotfish, angelfish, barracudas, and moray eels. Divers may also encounter seahorses, frogfish, rays, and other smaller marine creatures around the reefs and wrecks.
