Divers can explore both Pacific and Caribbean coasts of Costa Rica, each with its own unique characteristics. The Pacific side is known for its rocky formations, volcanic seamounts, and encounters with pelagic species. The Caribbean side features coral reefs, clear waters, and vibrant marine life.

When to dive in Costa Rica

The best time to dive in Costa Rica can vary by region. On the Pacific side, the dry season from December to April generally offers the best diving conditions with calm seas and good visibility. On the Caribbean side, diving is excellent year-round but it's important to be mindful of the hurricane season from September to November.
