Located in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, the island nation of Cyprus is a great diving destination. Cyprus also has a rich history and culture, with evidence of human settlement dating back to the Neolithic period. Often considered one of the best wreck dives in the world, the Zenobia shipwreck rests just 15 minutes off Cyprus. The wreck is over 170 meters (558 feet) and offers divers the opportunity to explore a variety of compartments and cargo holds. On June 7th 1980, she sank due to a software error that pumped excess water into the ballast tanks and was holding over 100 vehicles in her cargo hold. She now rests on her port side between 19 meters (62 feet) and 42 meters (138 feet).
