Diving at the Amphoras dive site was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all my expectations. This full drift dive is perfectly suited for divers of all skill levels, making it an ideal choice for both beginners and seasoned adventurers alike. The site derives its name from the fascinating remnants of a 17th-century Turkish cargo ship wreck, which adds a historical intrigue to the dive.
As we descended into the crystal-clear waters, the first thing that struck me was the stunning landscape below. A sandy plateau dotted with vibrant hard and soft coral pinnacles creates an enchanting underwater scenery that is simply breathtaking. The colors were incredibly vivid, and the diverse marine life was a joy to behold. Each coral formation seemed to teem with life, providing endless opportunities for exploration and photography.
One of the highlights of this dive was the chance to observe majestic eagle rays gliding gracefully through the water. Additionally, we were fortunate enough to spot a few turtles, a true testament to the site's thriving ecosystem. The thrill of encountering larger pelagic species swimming along the drop-off was the icing on the cake. The guide was knowledgeable and pointed out various creatures, ensuring that we didn’t miss out on anything.
The drift dive was smooth and exhilarating, allowing us to effortlessly glide along the currents while taking in the spectacular sights. The gentle flow of the water made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience fully. Safety protocols were clearly communicated, and I felt well taken care of throughout the dive.
Overall, diving at Amphoras is a must for anyone looking to explore an extraordinary underwater world. The combination of history, vibrant marine life, and stunning coral formations makes this site a true gem. I can't wait to return for another dive and discover even more of its wonders. I recently had the opportunity to dive at the Amphoras dive site in the Sharm el Sheikh area, and it was a truly remarkable experience. This dive site is suitable for divers of all levels, offering a full drift dive with an intriguing historical twist. The site is named after a 17th-century Turkish cargo ship that met its unfortunate fate here, leaving behind remnants of its anchor and the valuable cargo it carried in amphora pots.
As I explored the underwater world, I was mesmerized by the sandy plateau adorned with breathtaking hard and soft coral pinnacles. The vibrant colors and intricate formations were a sight to behold. But what really set this dive site apart was the diverse marine life I encountered. From graceful eagle rays gliding through the water to majestic turtles and even larger pelagic species swimming along the drop off, there was never a dull moment.
The visibility was excellent, allowing me to fully immerse myself in this underwater paradise. The combination of historical artifacts and stunning marine life made the Amphoras dive site a truly captivating experience.
