I recently had the pleasure of diving at Middle Garden, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience. This dive site offers a unique combination of stunning underwater landscapes and a diverse array of marine life, making it suitable for divers of all levels.
The dive begins at a shallow hard coral wall, plateauing at around 10 meters. The vibrant corals are a visual feast, showcasing an impressive array of colors and shapes. As you glide along, the wall gives way to a 20-meter-wide sandy road that runs parallel to the coastline. This sandy stretch is fringed with larger boulder corals, creating a beautiful contrast against the soft sand. The transition from the sandy road to the spectacular garden of hard coral, which slopes down to about 70 meters at the drop-off, is simply breathtaking.
One of the highlights of this dive was the abundance of marine life. I was captivated by the schools of milkfish patrolling the shallows, and the sight of stingrays relaxing on the sand was mesmerizing. The nesting trigger fish added a touch of excitement, and I was fortunate enough to spot moray eels peeking out from their rocky homes. The hard coral wall was alive with groups of goatfish, banner fish, and butterfly fish, creating a vibrant underwater spectacle.
What truly sets Middle Garden apart is its reputation as a channel for larger marine creatures. While I didn’t spot any during my dive, the possibility of encountering majestic Manta Rays and Whale Sharks added an element of anticipation that heightened the experience.
The dive is typically planned as a fixed mooring dive, which ensures safety and ease of access. The site is perfect for all levels of divers, from beginners looking to explore the beauty of coral reefs to seasoned divers eager to encounter larger marine life.
Overall, diving at Middle Garden is an exceptional experience that combines stunning visuals with a rich diversity of marine life. Whether you’re a novice or an experienced diver, this site should be on your bucket list. I can’t wait to return for another dive in this underwater paradise!... Show More
