I recently had the incredible opportunity to dive at the Ras Bob site in Sharm El Sheikh! This dive site truly caters to divers of all levels, making it perfect for both beginners and seasoned pros.
As we descended along the wall, I was immediately captivated by the vibrant corals that decorated the reef. The wall drops to about 16 meters, and it’s teeming with life. One of the standout features of this dive was the fascinating swim-throughs and narrow caves hidden within the coral formations. Exploring these underwater passages felt like embarking on an underwater adventure, and the thrill of discovering what lay around each corner was exhilarating.
One of my favorite moments was encountering the stunning Table Coral that houses a lively school of GlassFish. The shimmering spectacle created by the sunlight filtering through the water and reflecting off the fish was breathtaking. It was a fantastic photo opportunity!
As we made our way deeper, we transitioned to the sandy area, where we found an expansive eel garden. Watching the eels peek out from their burrows was a highlight of the dive. The entire ecosystem felt alive and vibrant, and I appreciated how well-preserved the site is.
Overall, I highly recommend diving at Ras Bob for anyone visiting Sharm El Sheikh. The combination of stunning coral walls, intriguing swim-throughs, and diverse marine life makes it a must-visit. Whether you're looking to enhance your diving skills or simply enjoy the beauty of the underwater world, Ras Bob has something for everyone. I can't wait to go back and explore more of its hidden treasures!... Show More

Formerly known as Labyrinth because of its shallow swim-through caves, this dive site in Sharm El Sheikh was renamed Bob Johnson after the renowned videographer who filmed an underwater advertisement for the UK bank Cheltenham and Gloucester. However, it's important to note that the iconic columns depicted in the advertisement were only temporary and cannot be found at the site today.
As you descend to a depth of approximately 22 meters, you'll encounter a large eel garden that adds an enchanting element to the dive. Exploring this dive site is best done in shallow water, where you have the opportunity to spot octopus gracefully navigating their surroundings. Additionally, keep an eye out for groups of Sergeant majors hanging around in the shallows, adding a splash of color to the underwater landscape.
Though the site no longer showcases the columns from the commercial, a dive at Bob Johnson still promises an underwater adventure filled with intriguing marine life. Don't miss the chance to discover the eel garden and observe the fascinating behaviors of octopus and Sergeant majors when diving at this captivating site in Sharm El Sheikh.... Show More
