Diving at Woodhouse Reef, located between Thomas Reef and Jackson Reef, was an exhilarating experience. This long and narrow reef requires drift diving, adding an element of adventure as divers rely on the ocean's currents. The best time to dive is in the morning when sunlight enhances the vibrant underwater colors.
The highlight was the northern half of the eastern side, featuring a stunning canyon at depths of 22-26 meters, where I marveled at the unique Antipathes sp. corals and spotted a variety of marine life, including jackfish, sea turtles, and sharks. However, caution is essential; divers should exit before reaching the saddle to avoid the powerful ‘washing machine’ eddy, especially in choppy conditions.
With breathtaking visibility and a diverse ecosystem, Woodhouse Reef is a must-visit for adventurous divers. Just be sure to dive in good weather and heed local advice for a safe and unforgettable experience!... Show More

Woodhouse Reef is a slender and elongated reef that is best explored through drift dives, under favorable weather conditions. The most captivating section is the northern half of the eastern side, where a captivating canyon begins at a depth of 30 meters. This area offers a diverse range of marine life, including vibrant red anemones, opportunities to spot sea turtles, schools of jackfish, and graceful eagle rays. However, it is important to be cautious during rough sea conditions. It is highly recommended to conclude the dive and resurface before reaching the northern point, as the powerful swirling currents and strong winds can create turbulent waters.... Show More
