Dive Shop Icon Buddy Dive, Bonaire

Buddy Dive is a fantastic dive shop. The entire location is self service allowing you to shore dive all over the island as you please. The resort offers trucks for rent with your stay, so you can load your gear up, grab tanks from the drive through fill station, and take off to explore one of the many, many, MANY dive sites on the island. The house reef is pretty alive, with a chance to see a sea horse and even eagle rays. The restaurant wasn’t bad, but the breakfast buffet is the same thing every morning so if you aren’t a fan of repeated food every day, this may be an issue. We went grocery shopping since the rooms have a stove top and fridge, and that allowed some variety for us. The bar and restaurant is your option for dinner and this is where the location lost a star for me. The staff here is just not attentive and it’s kind of difficult trying to get a glass of water refilled, let alone a food order in. As for the diving on the island, it’s all shore entry on very rocky shores covered in sea urchins and fire coral. Some are easier entries than others, but there no real sandy beach area, it’s all rocky, so being hard soles. Bonaire is a divers paradise for the ease of shore entry access to so many amazing sites. Having a truck from Buddy Dive makes that even easier. I recommend it for divers, though non divers will find little to do in Bonaire and very little at the resort.... Show More Oct. 7, 2023
