Her global underwater journey took her from Antarctica to Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe, South America, and finally North America. “Limited funds, no entourage, just grit, grace, and an unshakeable commitment,” Dawson said, thanking the global dive community for their support. Her record-breaking journey not only highlights her personal resilience but also inspires greater diversity in scuba diving, echoing the sentiments of the previous record-holder, Barrington Scott, who aimed to encourage more African-American participation in water sports.
