Be sure to get here early to get a parking spot. There are washroom/shower facilities available and lots of good restaurants nearby. The Kelp Forests are about 100 meters from the beach entry area. We chose to swim out underwater since the water was rough on the surface. Max depth was 38 ft with 12ft visibility. Water temp was 61F. On this date, there was also a lot of surge at this site.... This is a popular spot with lots of tourists in the water and on the beach area. There were several Seals playing in the water right next to the swimmers!
The bottom was pretty stirred up as there was high surf and a good amount of surge. I saw a few fish, but the highlight was certainly being in the water that close to the Seals.
