Lock 28

A very fun dive. The lock 28 drift starts at the Galop Canal and takes divers to the nearby Conestoga. There are two entry points. On the north side of the canal, divers can enter with a giant stride. Divers can also cross the bridge to the south side where they wade in and begin near the Wreck of the Wee Hawk, which divers can explore before beginning the drift. The drift goes down the canal, and with some attention to navigation, divers exit the canal and enter the St Lawrence, drifting until they reach the Conestoga. The fast currents, many things to see in the canal as well as the Conestoga, make this a fun dive. While moderately challenging, new divers can join with nearby groups and get a good feel for drift diving. I highly recommend this dive. ... Show More
