Matanzas Bay

Very unique dive site. The location is right in the heart of the large oil tankerage in Matanzas Bay. We parked beside two small homes. The site is on iron shore - entry is a stride entry from the ledge about 5' above the water. There is a ladder to exit although it can be challenging.
The dives are essentially wall dives - nice coral and sponges. Not a ton of fish or other sea life. Very fun dive though. Again, usually smaller steel tanks are available so the dives seem short. However, we got to about 90' for a bit and the total dive was about 40= minutes.
Best part was the owner of the small house at the dive site machete'd coconuts for us so our surface interval was coconut juice. ... Show More
