Dive Flag Bay of Pigs, Carretera Playa Larga

Bay of Pigs is a renown site to visit, if in part to see the invasion area from 1961. Entry and exit are very easy - iron shore with a couple of steps that get you into about 4' of water. Usually there will be two dives - one will be a partial wall dive and the second will be to a small wreck (about a 50' boat). Both the wall and the boat are quite scenic. It's a beautiful area. the site is about 2.5 hours from Varadero so it ends up being a full day. This dive shop had the larger aluminum tanks so air was not an issue. However, one of our people continued to have issues with rental regs. I highly suggest bringing your own regs but the rest of the rental gear is fine. ... Show More Mar. 1, 2024

Dive Flag Matanzas Bay, Varadero

Very unique dive site. The location is right in the heart of the large oil tankerage in Matanzas Bay. We parked beside two small homes. The site is on iron shore - entry is a stride entry from the ledge about 5' above the water. There is a ladder to exit although it can be challenging. The dives are essentially wall dives - nice coral and sponges. Not a ton of fish or other sea life. Very fun dive though. Again, usually smaller steel tanks are available so the dives seem short. However, we got to about 90' for a bit and the total dive was about 40= minutes. Best part was the owner of the small house at the dive site machete'd coconuts for us so our surface interval was coconut juice. ... Show More Mar. 1, 2024

Dive Flag Playa Coral, Varadero

If staying in Varadero, this is one of the first places they will likely take you (depending upon the surf). Easy entry and quite shallow. A lot of very interesting swing-throughs and rock formations. they only had smaller steel tanks at this location so despite the shallow dive (... Show More Mar. 1, 2024

Dive Flag Invisibles, Bonaire

One of my favourite dives. Good access although a bit tricky getting into the water if there is a bit of surf. Go down the sand shoot to the coral islands at the bottom. Can be deep along the sand (100') so check your gauges and air.... Show More Mar. 31, 2023

Dive Flag Ol' Blue, Bonaire

Also called Tolo. Easy entry - suggest gear up on the shore and not up in the parking area. Lots of parking and staging areas. Short swim to the coral, and heading either right or left makes for a good dive.... Show More Mar. 31, 2023

Dive Flag Salt Pier, Bonaire

Did this as a night dive. Easy to navigate - swim under the pier out to the far main structure. Far more interesting activity in the shallows than deeper. Stick to 30' or less and enjoy a long dive!... Show More Mar. 25, 2023
