This is one of those bucket list dives that people do just to have the experience and for the bragging rights. I maxed at 134'. The drop is amazingly quick. It took about 6 minutes to get down to that depth, we hung out for about 6 minutes, and then slowly ascended. The total dive time was 30 minutes. The stalactites at the bottom were interesting. Sadly, no sharks. As long as you consider the 2 hr boat ride as part of the whole experience it doesn't seem as much of a waste. The other 2 sites we visited were definitely more interesting.... I'm seeing some mixed reviews here and I understand the comments. But the bottom line is if you in Belize, this is a site you have to dive. The boat ride is long, but you'll be able to talk about this forever and you can say you dove the great blue hole! And the site truly is a great dive with lots to see.... Show More

IMO this is not worth the cost or time. It takes an entire day and is by far not the best diving in Belize. Its such a famous dive site its hard not to go see for yourself though. Just manage your expectations.

This is one of the most famous dive sites in the world so my opinion may not be the most popular. This site takes ~2 hours to get to and it’s a very deep dive so dive time is minimal. Also, be prepared for the site to be crowded of course as this is such a famous spot. The ‘hole’ is really just a wall dive and its not the best wall dive in Belize by far. ... Show More

The blue hole is a must if you are in Belize diving! Its a 2-hr boat ride but is worth every minute of it since its such a beautiful dive site with all the stalagmites and formations and we were lucky enough to have 2 big sharks join us for the dive! We dove with ambergris caye divers and would recommend them to anyone. Had a very good experience with them, good equipment good guys, overall great experience.... Show More
